Círculo Apostólico
Fue un grupo sectario de espiritualistas americanos en los
inicio, entraban en comunicación a través del mediumnismo de la Sra. Benedict
de Auburn, entraba en contacto con los apóstoles y profetas de la Biblia.
Creían en un segundo advenimiento. En 1849 James L. Scott, un ministro bautista
del Séptimo Día de Brooklyn se unió al grupo. Se recibieron mensajes de San
Juan a través de su trance y junto con el Rev. Thomas Lago Harris se editó un
periódico del Movimiento Apostólico: Revelaciones Inferiores y Superiores para
la Salvación de los Mortales. No mucho tiempo después la asociación se disolvió
y en octubre de 1851 la secta se instaló en Mountain Cove, en el condado de
Fayette, Virginia. Scott confirmó su absoluta mediumnidad. Debido a luchas y
disenciones en febrero de 1852 el asentamiento fue abandonado. Scott fue a
Nueva York y Thomas Lago Harris logró
despertar el interés en el Movimiento de varios hombres ricos, la propiedad de
la fundación fue recomprada y comenzó una nueva era en la que Scott y Harris,
el primero fue el receptor de los mensajes de San Juan, y el segundo fue el
receptor de San Dinero, actuando como "los médiums elegidos" a través
de los cuales "el señor quería comunicarse a los hombres de la
tierra". Su casa era llamada la Casa de Dios, y la Mountain Cove era la
Puerta del Cielo. Ellos se proclamaron a sí mismos como los dos testigos

APOSTOLIC
CIRCLE, a
sectarian group of early American spiritualists that claimed to be in
communication, through the mediumship of Mrs. Benedict of Auburn, with the
apostles and prophets of the Bible. The sect believed in a second advent. In
1849 James L. Scott, a Seventh Day Baptist Minister of Brooklyn, joined the
group. He delivered trance utterances in the name of St. John and edited,
jointly with the Rev. Thomas Lake Harris, a periodical of the Apostolic
Movement: Disclosures from the Interior and Superior Care for Mortals. Not
long after, the partnership was dissolved and in October, 1851 the sect settled
at Mountain Cove, Fayette County, Virginia. Scott declared himself medium
absolute. Owing to strife and dissension in February, 1852, the settlement was
given up. Scott went to New York and as Thomas Lake Harris succeeded in
arousing the interest of several wealthy men for the movements, the surrendered
property was re-purchased and a new era began in which Scott and Harris, the
first the mouthpiece of St. John, the second of St. Paid, acted as "the
chosen mediums" through which "the Lord would communicate to man on
earth." Their house was called the House of God, and Mountain Cove the
Gate of Heaven. They proclaimed themselves as the two witnesses named in the
Tenth Chapter of Revelations and claimed the powers spoken therein to their
fullest extent. In one of his prayers Harris said: "Oh Lord, thou knowest
we do not wish to destroy man with fire from our mouths" However, the two
perfect prophets could not smother the growing discord against their autocratic
rule and very soon the whole community dispersed.

Los dos testigos, Apocalipsis 11
01 Después me entregaron una vara de medir, diciéndome: «Vete, mide el Templo de Dios y el altar, y haz el censo de los que vienen a adorar.
02 No midas el patio exterior ni lo tomes en cuenta, pues ha sido entregado a los paganos, quienes pisotearán la Ciudad Santa durante cuarenta y dos meses.
03 Yo enviaré a mis dos testigos vestidos con ropa de penitencia para que proclamen mi palabra durante mil doscientos sesenta días.
04 Estos son los dos olivos y las dos lámparas que están ante el Dueño de la tierra.
05 Si alguien intenta hacerles mal, saldrá de su boca fuego y devorará a sus enemigos; así perecerá el que intente maltratarlos.»
06 Tienen poder para cerrar el cielo y que no caiga lluvia mientras dure su misión profética; tienen también poder para convertir las aguas en sangre y castigar la tierra con toda clase de plagas siempre que quieran.
07 Cuando hayan concluido su testimonio, la bestia que sube del abismo les hará la guerra, los vencerá y los matará.
08 Ahora sus cadáveres están tendidos en la plaza de la Gran Ciudad, que los creyentes llaman Sodoma o Egipto, en la que también su Señor fue crucificado.
09 Y durante tres días y medio, gente de todos los pueblos, razas, lenguas y naciones contemplan sus cadáveres, pues no está permitido sepultarlos.
10 Los habitantes de la tierra se alegran y se felicitan por ello, y se intercambian regalos, porque estos dos profetas eran para ellos un tormento.
11 Pero pasados los tres días y medio, un espíritu de vida procedente de Dios entró en ellos y se pusieron de pie, lo que provocó gran espanto entre los que miraban.
12 Entonces una voz poderosa les gritó desde el cielo: «Suban.» Y subieron al cielo en medio de la nube a la vista de sus enemigos.
13 En ese momento se produjo un violento terremoto y se derrumbó la décima parte de la ciudad, pereciendo en el cataclismo siete mil personas. Los supervivientes se llenaron de espanto y reconocieron al Dios del cielo.
14 El segundo ¡ay! ya pasó. El tercero está para llegar en seguida.

The Two Witnesses11 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. 2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”[a] 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6 They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.
7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
11 But after the three and a half days the breath[b] of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.
13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
14 The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon.
